National Powerline Hosts Inaugural SAFE DAY
Project Overview
At National Powerline, safety is everyone’s responsibility. We believe that no task is more important than the safety of our employees, our customers, and the public. Fostering individual ownership of our safety culture is a top priority that we support with strategy, programs, and resources. We’re proud to showcase the success of our first ever SAFE DAY event.
On April 29, our local crews stood down to spend the day immersed in safety as a team. At our yard in Avondale, all hands gathered to complete OSHA-sanctioned training for emergency situations, including top pole rescue, bucket rescue, confined space rescue, and fire extinguisher operation.
We also took advantage of the occasion give employees a voice and collect feedback about our overall safety culture. Using a survey developed by Culture Change Consultants, employees were encouraged to give their honest feedback. Analysis of the survey results will further enable us to identify opportunities and drive the development of strategies for continuous safety improvement.
With strong leadership presence from National Powerline and Centuri, as well as support from our customers and many of our safety equipment vendors, the day was an engaging experience for all and will serve as an excellent model for SAFE DAY activities for Centuri Power Group’s family of companies.
