  • Capabilities
    • Natural Gas Infrastructure
    • Underground Infrastructure
  • Completion 2016

Project Overview

Infrastructure replacement and expansion play a big role in keeping energy reliable and sustainable for communities throughout the country. From 2008 through 2012, the Centuri team was called to install and replace over 271 miles of high-density (HD) pipe in Southern Arizona for the largest natural gas distributor in the Southwest. Selected for our turnkey capabilities, the team brought expertise in project design, main pipeline replacement and installation, residential service replacement, and project coordination to the 4-year undertaking.

Key Highlights

With miles of main and service pipeline installation scheduled for completion each month, our team grew to include 18 HD replacement crews. This commitment and execution led to an additional ALDYL-A pipe replacement contract with the customer extending from 2011 through 2016 and requiring another 50 ALDYL-A replacement crews. By year-end 2016, we replaced over 500 miles of main and replacement pipe throughout Southern Arizona.

Throughout the extended project, all teams drew on their construction and coordination capabilities to refine and synchronize processes, predict and resolve potential conflicts, and successfully mobilize and execute to meet the project goals and rigorous schedule.
