Project Overview

A New Jersey battery manufacturer contracted with our team for engineering, procurement, and construction of a .5 MW, 2 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). Project elements included DC batteries, containers and integral wiring, a battery management system, and other auxiliary electrical equipment for the project site in West Caldwell, New Jersey.

As a turnkey construction provider and renewable technologies expert, we provided the electrical and civil construction capabilities necessary for start up and commissioning of the BESS facility.

Project Scope of Work Included:

Electrical

  • Install two (4) new (N) battery storage enclosures
  • Install new marshaling cabinet
  • Provide all new 3R outdoor electrical pull boxes
  • Install new inverter
  • Install new 75 KVA transformer
  • Install inter-connect wiring form battery storage units to marshaling cabinet
  • Provide wiring and try ins form Cab1000 inverter to existing transformer
  • Provider wiring and terminations from new inverter to existing BMS system
  • Install raceways, wiring, terminations & continuity testing
  • Provide CAT 5E ethernet connection & terminations
  • Provide fiber cable & tipping
  • Provide testing of fiber & cat 5 cable
  • Provide startup & commissioning assistance as needed at T&M
  • Provide grounding & bonding from ground grid system

Civil

  • Topsoil and Detention Basin Excavation
  • Demo Old Equipment and Place in Recycle Dumpster
  • Excavate for New Conduit Installation and Pad Extension
  • Construct Concrete Pad Extension
