In 2023, our substation group finished a complete upgrade of the Texas Avenue Substation in Lawrence Township, NJ. The project entailed installation of a 13kV bus system, bus steel supports, sheltered aisle switchgear, and numerous critical infrastructure components that lent the job significant complexity and scope.

  • Sump Pumps with Control Cabinets (2)
  • Link Boxes (4)
  • 69kV Double End Break Disconnect Switches w/Ground (4)
  • 60-Foot Lightning Masts (7)
  • Potential Transformers (21)
  • Prefabricated Control House
  • Fence Grounding and Yard Lighting
  • Receptacles, Conduits, and Power/Control Cables
  • Fiber Optic Cable Pulling and Terminating

Challenges and Results

Despite the fast-paced schedule and critical deadlines, the project team coordinated planning to reduce expected overtime and delays, ultimately saving the client from burdensome financial costs.

Successful completion of the Texas Avenue Substation 69kV upgrade stands as a testament to our coordinated planning, innovative solutions, and project persistence — all contributing to the service stability of our client and their end customers. These capabilities and the results they produced were recognized when the completed substation was awarded the 2024 NECA Project Excellence Award.
