Inclusion in Action: Supporting Our People, Partners & Communities
Centuri’s work begins with infrastructure, but our impact reaches much further. Every project depends on employees who are prepared to contribute, suppliers who have a fair chance to grow, and communities that benefit from the work around them. That is why Centuri treats inclusion as action, advancing workforce inclusion, supplier inclusion, and local opportunity together.
Inclusion Drives Performance and Innovation
Inclusion at Centuri means creating conditions where people can contribute, grow, and be recognized for their value. Our inclusive culture fosters respect, collaboration, and open communication, strengthening safety, teamwork, and field performance. By linking workforce inclusion, supplier engagement, and community opportunity to real decisions and measurable progress, Centuri builds the talent and partnerships needed for long-term growth, retention, capability, and innovation, demonstrating how inclusion drives lasting value within our sustainability framework.
Investing in Our People
Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
Centuri supports connection and professional growth through four Employee Resource Groups: Be Well Mind & Body, CommUNITY, WE-VETS, and WELD. Together, these employee resource groups (ERGs) create spaces for mentorship, support, career connection, and community building. They are an important part of workforce inclusion because they help employees build relationships and bring their full experience to work.
Learning & development programs
Centuri continues to invest in structured learning across our enterprise. Our Empower Edge Leadership Program, Manager Learn and Connect, and Foreman Academy equips our team with the skills needed to thrive in today’s workforce. These efforts show a serious commitment to infrastructure workforce development and long-term advancement.
Scholarship and workforce pipeline programs
Centuri awards ten $5,000 scholarships each year to children of employees pursuing vocational, technical, or traditional education. That investment strengthens infrastructure workforce development and reinforces our belief that opportunity should extend to the next generation.
Education and workforce pipeline initiatives
Centuri partners with academic institutions and federal, state, local, community, and university partners to widen awareness of utility and skilled trades careers. These include our signature U.S. Department of Labor-approved Linetec Apprenticeship Program, Power and Utility Line Work Program, Civic Works/BGE Workforce Collaborative Program, and Nicor Gas Academy. We also maintain outreach programs with high school and community colleges and welcome university students for internships. Together, these efforts support economic inclusion initiatives built on exposure, learning, and career access.
Internal advancement opportunities
We believe that a strong inclusion strategy should open doors inside the business, not just at the point of hire. Centuri’s training, recognition, and credential-building programs support careers as employees move into larger roles over time, from field positions to leadership tracks.
Expanding Opportunity Across Our Supply Chain
Centuri promotes supplier inclusion as a mechanism that drives job creation, local business growth, and stronger communities. As a member of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), we actively participate in diversity outreach and look to partner with Divers Business Enterprises (DBEs). We prioritize partnerships with local, regional, and diverse suppliers, including Minority, Women, and Veteran Business Enterprises, through outreach, mentorship, and advocacy. By focusing on training, mentoring, and certification support, Centuri builds lasting supplier relationships that strengthen regional economies, advance community investment, and connect business performance to long-term corporate impact.
Investing Where We Live and Work
Centuri’s community work is broad, local, and measurable. Our volunteer programs engage employees in book drives, blood drives, school and water drives, care-kit assembly, holiday campaigns, fundraising events, and career awareness initiatives.
